MORE ABOUT THE KIRSCH ACCORDIA-FOLD DRAPERY SYSTEM
FULLNESS AND COVERAGE
The interpretation of fullness may vary with different workshops. Because of this, Kirsch Accordia-Fold charts should always be used in estimating and quoting fabric requirements.
The fullness indicated on the chart is an exact percentage applied to the coverage requirement. Additional material is allowed for returns, overlaps, slack, shrinkage, and stitch deviation.
For example, a 44" - 48" coverage using 100% fullness calls for a 110 1/2 wide, flat hemmed fabric. Many workrooms desiring 100% fullness, double the coverage dimension and add fabric to the nearest 1/4 or full width. This is sometimes more or less than required for Accordia-Fold panels.
It is possible to start with the fabric width desired and determine from the charts the coverage that can be obtained with that amount of goods. Many times 80% fullness is acceptable since it is equal to 100%, based on some standards.
For your reference, the following allowances have been applied:
Maximum tape shrinkage: 3%
Pleat depth stitch deviation: + or - 1/16"
* Slack: 2" - 4"
*Based on the maximum coverage
